Speaker Bio: 

Matthew B. Kocanda, CFP®
is the Financial Professionals practice group leader at Balasa Dinverno Foltz LLC (BDF). In this capacity, he leads the firm’s effort of providing customized advice to the unique needs of private equity professionals, investment bankers, and asset managers. Kocanda partners with his clients as their personal CFO to create and execute long-term strategies to preserve and maximize their net worth. He specializes on cash flow analysis, tax minimization, estate planning, risk/insurance management, and investment advice. Kocanda is a member of BDF’s Investment Committee, which creates the investment strategy for the firm. The responsibilities span from developing asset allocation models to due diligence of investment strategies to providing in-depth commentary on current market events.  

Prior to joining BDF, Kocanda spent six years within Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management Division. He earned his undergraduate degree in finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Kocanda currently holds both his Series 7 and 66 and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional.
