us on the panel will be Robert Becker, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at MalinHughes; Rob Mittenthal, Partner and Co-Founder at Roberts and Ryan; and Marisa Morey Greenberg, Senior Associate at DHR Global. Panelists will discuss: 

  • The near-term impact on hiring from COVID-19
  • The most promising areas for employment growth in the future and other areas under pressure
  • Trends related to diversity, working from home, and compensation

Panelists: 
Robert Becker is the Managing Partner and Co- Founder of MalinHughes, a talent advisory firm specializing in executive search and human capital solutions. Robert leads the Banking/Financial Services practice along with overseeing the operations of the company. Robert has worked with industry leading banks, asset managers, and trading firms developing long term talent strategies and attracting top talent to meet and exceed clients’ goals and expectations.

Prior to MalinHughes, Robert started his career as a Research and Business Development Analyst with a boutique investment bank. He then moved to Michael Page International where he led the banking recruitment team in Chicago and built relationships within talent acquisition. From there he joined a client, BMO, and spent three years on the talent acquisition team leading hiring initiatives for capital markets and corporate areas supporting Finance, Trading Products, Investments, AML, Compliance, Risk and Governance, and executive leadership roles.

Robert is an active member of several financial services networking groups and organizations throughout Chicago. He has been a panel speaker for the CFA, CAMS, and the Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education Forum. Robert is on the Board of Directors for Love Andrew a nonprofit focused on providing resources and support to children with autism.

Robert attended the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC and graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance & Leadership, Change and Social Responsibility.

Rob Mittenthal began his career in executive search in 1990. Prior to co-founding Roberts & Ryan he was the Chief Operating Officer of one of Chicago's top retained search firms. Under his leadership, the firm made Crain's Chicago Business' Executive Search Firm Top Ten List for the first time and was recognized by Inc. 500 for being one of the fastest growing companies in America.

Rob has an excellent reputation within the financial services industry as a trusted resource for their leadership team building efforts. He is the architect of the unique value proposition Roberts & Ryan presents for clients - completion and accountability in addition to traditional sourcing and recruitment. Having grown up in the executive search business, he has completed searches for all major CEO direct report functions as well as positions specific to the investment management industry. In addition, he has helped the firm develop a solid reputation within the private equity community.

Marissa Morey Greenberg is a Senior Associate at DHR Global, an executive search firm headquartered in Chicago. She conducts executive and emerging leadership assignments for family offices, endowments and foundations, RIAs, institutional investment managers, and private equity firms. Marissa has placed talent across functions including investments, operations, marketing, and distribution. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion.

Marissa graduated from DePaul University where she studied human resources and art history. She has worked and volunteered at several non profits including the Art Institute of Chicago, JourneyCare, and Compassus.

Moderator: 
Matt Brackmann, CFA, is a portfolio manager for Perritt Capital Management where he is actively involved in idea generation and company research in the microcap equities market. He is also responsible for overseeing the firm’s trading desk and managing relationships with sell-side brokerage firms. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa in 2004 and has been with Perritt for the entirety of his career. Matt has been awarded a CFA charter and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Chicago.
