Table Hosts:

Jose Almonte, CFA, is a senior research analyst at LGIM America. In his role, he focuses on the utilities, basics, and tobacco sectors. Prior to joining LGIM America in 2008, Almonte was a senior research analyst at SIGMA Capital Fixed Income Advisor. Prior to this, Almonte was a senior research analyst at FrontPoint Partners and the Clinton Group. He also spent seven years at TIAA CREF in various roles within the fixed income team.

Almonte earned a BBA in finance from Bernard Baruch College and an MBA from Fordham University. He is a CFA charterholder. 

Dafina M. Dunmore, CFA, is a senior director in Fitch Ratings’ North American Non-Bank Financial Institutions group. As a senior member of the group, she is sector lead for alternative investment managers and pension plans with primary coverage responsibilities across the sectors. Dunmore  also worked in Fitch’s North American Insurance group with coverage responsibilities for life, property/casualty and title insurance companies. 

Dunmore was previously an equity analyst at Morningstar covering companies in the life insurance industry. She was also a financial analyst at ServiceMaster, where she performed financial analyses and modeling for strategic planning purposes. 
Dunmore earned a B.A. and MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of CFA Society Chicago.

Matt Freund, CFA, is co-chief investment officer, head of Fixed Income Strategies, and senior co-portfolio manager at Calamos. As a co-chief investment officer, Matt Freund is responsible for oversight of investment team resources, investment processes, performance and risk. As head of Fixed Income Strategies, he manages investment team members and has portfolio management responsibilities. He is also a member of the Calamos Investment Committee, which is charged with providing a top-down framework, maintaining oversight of risk and performance metrics, and evaluating investment process. Freund joined Calamos in 2016 and has 32 years of industry experience.

Prior to joining Calamos, he was chief investment officer of USAA Investments, leading the teams responsible for the portfolio management of USAA’s mutual funds and affiliated portfolios, including P&C and life insurance products, and overseeing more than $140 billion in assets. During this time, he also served as lead portfolio manager for several highly regarded fixed income mutual funds. Earlier in his career,  Freund served as a senior investment analyst for MetLife in the Capital Markets Group. He received a B.A. in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College and an M.B.A. from Indiana University.
