The U.S. Government and the Federal Reserve have taken unprecedented emergency actions to mitigate the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic which has shocked the economy and resulted in a major shutdown. When will the economy start growing again and what will the recovery look like?
Loretta J. Mester, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, joins us to discuss the tools and policies of the U.S. central bank and how they can help the economy get back on a sustainable growth path. She will discuss her personal thought process and contributions to Fed policy decisions, as well as the Fed's ongoing public policy research on gender and income inequality.
