Thea Jamison, CFA, founder and managing director of
CHANGE Global Investment,
will discuss the evolution of the asset class and how it explains current investment opportunities. Institutional investors today can reach any corner of the developing world. How did we get here, what does it mean, and where do we invest now? She will share her insight, formed by pushing investment boundaries and challenging preconceived notions, for nearly 20 years. Thea Jamison, CFA,
is the founder and managing director of CHANGE Global Investment. Jamison started her investment career in emerging and frontier markets in 1997. She has researched investment opportunities in over 90 countries and invested directly on 60 local stock exchanges. Over her career, Jamison has built out new firms focused on the emerging and frontier markets, as well as new emerging market strategies within established firms.
As a native of Bulgaria, Jamison also carries firsthand experience of living in an emerging country for nearly twenty years. Previously, Jamison served as partner and portfolio manager at Frontier Market Asset Management, where she rolled out the firm’s global frontier focused funds. Her prior investment experience includes the build out of the emerging market strategies at Nicholas Applegate Capital Management and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Jamison is a board member of the Stanford Business School Alumni chapter in Oregon and Southwest Washington. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University and her Bachelor of Science in International Business, summa cum laude, from Menlo College. Jamison is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of CFA Society Portland. She resides with her husband and three teenage children in the Portland, Oregon area.
