Meet the Team at Allstate Investments:
Janelle Woodward, CFA
Janelle Woodward is a Senior Managing Director within Allstate Investments and heads the Multi-Asset group. In her role, Janelle is responsible for leading the capital allocation process and interfacing with business unit partners, architecting and executing active investing strategies across asset classes. Prior to joining Allstate in 2023, she served as President and Head of Investment Management at MacKay Shields, where she led the firm’s seven independent investment teams representing $160 billion in assets under management and drove the expansion of their product suite and capabilities. Prior to joining MacKay, she spent more than a decade at BMO Financial Group in roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as the Global Head of Fixed Income, where she led five global fixed income teams representing $50 billion in assets. Janelle maintains a strong commitment to building diversity, equity and inclusion in the financial services industry through various sponsorships. She also currently serves on the board of Big City Mountaineers, a non-profit organization providing transformative experiences in nature for youth from disinvested communities. Janelle earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration/systems from Taylor University and her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. She is a CFA Charterholder.
Natalie Burkart
Managing Director, Global Research and Strategy Natalie works closely with Allstate Investments’ leaders and portfolio managers on strategic investment decisions, process improvements, resource allocation and other aspects of our Investments business. She also leads the Public Asset Group’s research analysts, spanning Municipal, Investment Grade, High Yield and Leverage Loans. Natalie is a member of the Risk Committee, Responsible Investment Committee and Management Committee. In addition, she leads the Investments’ Inclusive Diversity & Equity Council. Natalie joined Allstate in 2006 as a senior analyst in investment grade research and has taken on roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to her current role, she was Allstate Investments’ group head of investment grade and municipal research. Before joining Allstate, Natalie spent over five years at PPM America working in the Credit Analysis Group. Natalie started her career in 1997 at LaSalle Bank in the Credit Analyst Training program. Natalie earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, from the University of Arizona and her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
