Panelists Bios:

Gabriella Kusz

Gabriella Kusz serves as CEO of the Global Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency Association, a global voluntary self-regulatory association for the industry. In this capacity she has earned accolades by Wirex on their Rising Women in Crypto Power List 2022, by CoinGape as one of their Top Crypto CEOs in the World, and most recently by the American Banker as one of three national finalists for their ‘Most Influential Women in Fintech’ award. Prior to this role, she served as the Principal for Strategic Initiatives at the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) where, in addition to other areas, she supported the profession’s leadership and innovation in the digital era. Her background has largely included working in international financial sector and economic growth including working with the World Bank Group Governance Global Practice where she was responsible for leading the Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting (CGFR) workstream for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and advancing the dual goals of the World Bank: poverty reduction and shared prosperity.

Annemarie Tierney

Annemarie Tierney is the Founder and Principal of Liquid Advisors, a consulting firm offering strategic advisory services around primary and secondary liquidity structuring, including for digital assets and private crypto investment funds.  Annemarie is a member of the Board of Directors of Deltec International Group and LODAS Markets. Annemarie also serves as Senior Strategic Advisor to the Chamber of Digital Commerce and on the executive team of Project Chill Limited/Jambo Technology, a recent token project empowering the next generation of Africans via Web3. 

Annemarie is a seasoned financial services executive with substantial legal, regulatory and strategy experience, as well as experienced in broker dealer regulation, blockchain legal and regulatory issues, securities transactional work, SEC rules and regulations, corporate governance, and international expansion.  Annemarie has led a broad range of regulatory and legislative thought leadership initiatives in the private alternative asset space and is a frequent speaker on a range of private asset issues. 

Previously, Annemarie was the Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel of Templum, Inc., a registered broker dealer/alternative trading system approved to conduct primary offerings and secondary trading in unregistered digital securities.  She also served as Head of Strategy at Nasdaq Private Market and as the General Counsel of SecondMarket Holdings, Inc. (now Digital Currency Group), where she led the efforts to structure, launch and obtain OTC QX approval to publicly trade the Grayscale Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC), and to trade bitcoin through SecondMarket’s broker dealer (now Genesis Global Trading).  Annemarie has also worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, the NYSE and NYFIX. 

Annemarie is the President of the Board of Directors of the Association of SEC Alumni and a former member of the SEC’s Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies.   She earned her BA/BS in Finance and International Relations from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware and her JD from the Catholic University of America.  Annemarie is also FINRA series 7, 63 and 24 licensed.

Nelson M. Rosario is Founder and Partner at Rosario Tech Law, LLC a boutique law firm that works with clients in the cryptocurrency industry, and other emerging technology industries, on legal issues that are changing the way we think about property, privacy, and power. Rosario's commentary and analysis has been featured in the New York Times, TechCrunch, CoinDesk, Law360 and other publications. Rosario is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Rosario holds a JD from Illinois Tech, Chicago-Kent College of Law, a BS in Computer Science from Florida State University, and a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Minnesota.

Monique Thanos, PhD, CFA, FRM, is an expert in both traditional and decentralized finance. She is a Director at Lukka where she applies her quantitative background in the fast evolving crypto ecosystem. Prior to working in digital assets, she led quantitative research groups in traditional finance, developing and managing investment portfolio strategies and also working in risk management. She has experience across multiple asset classes and areas of finance from working in different financial services companies like Kabouter Management, AIG, Ronin Capital and US Bancorp. Before starting her career in finance, she worked towards her physics doctorate degree at Fermi National Laboratory. Monique is a CFA Charterholder and holds the Financial Risk Manager certification.
