Speaker Bios:
Jim Gary is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 52 years’ experience in the mental health field. Early in his career, Gary worked with students at Maine West High School and Maryville Academy, a home for dependent and abused children. In 1974, he opened his private practice that he still maintains, providing individual and marriage counseling.
In 1999, Gary started a program at a local high school which helped athletes adapt behavioral techniques to enhance their confidence and performance. The program received wide media attention and he was contacted by the Chicago Blackhawks and commissioned to work with the players and staff. At that time there were no mental health therapists on staff in the NHL so he developed his own job description. Gary has had the honor of working the teams that won three Stanley Cups and he proudly has three championship rings.
Gary has an undergraduate degree from Lewis University, a Master`s Degree from Northern Illinois University and post graduate work at several other Universities.
